Yes! For Florida residents, state law requires a mandatory 3-day waiting period after obtaining a marriage license before you can legally marry. By completing our official Florida premarital course, the 3-day waiting period is completely waived, allowing you to get married instantly.
How long does the premarital course take?
Florida law strictly requires a minimum of 4 hours of premarital education. Our online course is completely self-paced, meaning you can log in and out over several days. You must accumulate 4 hours of coursework before your official state certification form is generated.
What do we bring to the Florida Clerk of the Circuit Court?
To successfully apply for your marriage license and receive your $25 discount, both you and your partner must appear in person at the Clerk's office. You must bring:
- Valid Government-Issued ID: A Driver's License, State ID card, valid Passport, or Military ID.
- Social Security Number: You must know your Social Security Number (some counties require the physical card).
- Course Certificate: Your original Certificate of Completion provided by Cadenza Counseling.
- Payment: The remaining balance of your license fee ($61.00 instead of $86.00).

We are planning a destination wedding in FL. Do we still need this?
If you are non-Florida residents planning a destination wedding, you are not subject to the 3-day waiting period (you can legally marry the same day). However, out-of-state couples who choose to take our 4-hour premarital course will still qualify for the $25.00 discount on the state marriage license fee!
How long is the premarital course certificate good for?
Your official Florida Certificate of Completion is valid for exactly 1 year (365 days) from the date it is issued. You must present it to the Clerk of the Circuit Court to apply for your marriage license before that one-year window expires.
How long is a Florida marriage license valid?
Once your marriage license is formally issued by the Clerk of the Circuit Court, it is valid for 60 days. Your ceremony must take place anywhere within the State of Florida before those 60 days expire.
