Arizona PIP Class FAQs
What is the Parent Information Program (PIP)?
The Parent Information Program (PIP) is a statutorily mandated educational course designed to help parents understand the emotional and psychological impacts of divorce, legal separation, and custody disputes on their minor children, as governed by A.R.S. § 25-352.
Is this accepted in Maricopa, Pima, and Pinal Counties?
Yes. Because our curriculum is developed and overseen by a licensed mental health professional and covers all mandated statutory topics, it is widely accepted by Superior Courts across Arizona, including the high-volume jurisdictions of Maricopa County, Pima County, and Pinal County.
Do my ex-spouse and I have to take the class together?
No. In fact, Arizona courts expressly prefer that you do not. Each parent must register for and complete the course individually. You are not required to use the same provider or complete the course on the same day.
What is the deadline to complete the PIP class?
Typically, the parent who filed the petition (the Petitioner) has 45 days from the date of filing to complete the course. The parent responding (the Respondent) has 45 days from the date they are served. Failure to complete the class can result in the judge holding you in contempt or refusing to finalize your decree.
Will the court accept a digital PDF certificate?
Yes. Arizona Superior Courts fully accept the digital PDF certificates generated by our platform. You can easily upload it directly through the Arizona eFileAZ system to submit it to your local Clerk of the Superior Court.
